​BOYNE CITY YACHT CLUB

The origin of the Boyne City Yacht Club has been traced back to a small group of sailing enthusiasts who gathered in 1987 at the Boyne River Inn in Boyne City to discuss starting a club thus the Boyne Yacht Club (BYC) was formed.
​
In 1988, the BYC reconstituted itself as the Boyne City Yacht Club (BCYC); under the leadership of Commodore Jim Howell. The lounge of the old One Water Street was adopted as the Club’s informal clubhouse. The 288 individuals who joined the BCYC in 1988 were designated the Club’s Charter Members. Today, the Club is composed of over 550 members and continues to grow.

The present Club consists of a group of fun loving water enthusiasts including power and sail boaters. Our calendar of activities spans the entire year with off-season activities including the Ball and Change event, which combines the former Change of Watch and the Commodore’s Ball events, and an ever-changing list of other fun activities.  If you’d like to participate in these and many other great events, why not join BCYC?  It’s quick and easy.  Click the button below to JOIN!

CONNECT WITH US
While the BCYC does not own a "club house" (that's how we keep the dues so low), our member events throughout the year are typically held at local restaurants and marinas. You can find 35-45 of our members gathered in the covered Lighthouse picnic area at the Boyne City Marina on Tuesday evenings after sailboat racing, sharing stories, snacking on food and drinking "adult" beverages. We invite you to stop in and introduce your self … we love company!
