Ironworks Regatta
On July 14th, the BCYC hosts one of the areas most enjoyable regattas. The Ironworks has been a must-do on many racer's calendars. The "Austrailian Pursuit" race sends the "slow" boats out first using assigned times. The "fast" boats then try to catch them. In theory, all boats finish together. In numerous races, this has proven true with finishers within seconds of each other.
This fun race is not one to be missed. Perfect for a family or a group of non-racing friends, it ends at the East Jordan Marina in the shadow of the East Jordan Ironworks. The Ironworks have gratiously donated the manhole cover which adorns the wall of the Boyne River Inn and holds the names of winning boats in both divisions from years past.
