The origin of the Boyne City Yacht Club has been
traced back thru the misty past to a summer evening
in 1987.  A small group of boating and sailing
enthusiasts who were involved in racing gathered at
the Boyne River Inn in Boyne City to discuss starting a
club.  After a few refreshments everyone heartily
agreed that this was a good idea.  The newly formed
BCYC adopted the lounge at the old One Water Street,
which was just opening at that time, as their informal
clubhouse.  Over the next fifteen years the club grew
from approximately fifty charter members to over six
hundred members.  The present club consists of a
group of fun loving water enthusiasts including power
and sail boaters.  Our calendar of activities spans the
whole year and not just the summer boating season.
In the summer there are a series of weekly sailboat
races held each Tuesday evening at the east end of
Lake Charlevoix and several cruises to rendezvous
destinations.  Our off-season activities have grown to a
full calendar of events including Change of Watch,
Commodore’s Ball and an ever-changing list of other
fun events.

Would you like to meet and mingle with a fun group of
people?  Club events include both water and non-water
activities, therefore owning a watercraft is not a
requirement.  Becoming a member is easy, simply fill
out a membership application and include the
applicable fee of $50 which includes your $10
initiation.  note: The fee is $35 if you prefer email Club
communication!
